Kilian Jornet set a new course record at Hardrock 100

The Spanish runner crossed the finish line at 4:41 AM on Saturday, setting a new course record of 22:41:33. The previous record had been set by Kyle Skaggs (23:23) in 2008. It was Kilian’s first run in Hardrock.

The course is 100.5 mile long and has more 33,992 feet of climb. Located in Southern Colorado’s San Juan Range it is run at an average elevation of over 11,000 feet.

Julien Chorier (who had won the race in 2011) came in second in 25:07:53 and Adam Campbell third in 25:56:46.

Darcy Africa won the women’s race for the third year in a row in 29:49:58. She finished the more than 8 hours before the second woman Betsy Kalmeyer (37:57:22). The third place went to Betsy Nye in
42:22:12.

100 runners finished the race.
