Jeffrey Eggleston, from Boulder Colorado, wins the Virginia Beach Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon in 01:05:28. At mid race, he was at the 4th place. And when the top 3 runners slowed down at a water station, Jeffrey kept going and managed to keep the lead until he crossed the finish line.
Second and third place went to David Richardson (01:05:41) and Tyler Pennel (01:06:08).
This is not Jeffrey’s first win in a half marathon, since he had already won the Chicago Half Marathon in 2013 and the San Francisco Half Marathon in 2012.
Lilian Marita from Kenya was the first women to cross the finish line with a time of 01:15:30. She was followed by Caroline Kiptoo (01:16:19)
and Joyce Kandie (01:16:38).
7,750 runners finished the race.
