Last year, the marathon had been cancelled due to bad weather conditions. This year, the weather was much milder and allowed 4,508 marathon runners and half marathon runners to complete their respective races.
Marathon Results
Kimutai Cheruiyot won the marathon in a time of 02:17:11. One minute after, James Kiwa crossed the finish line to take the second place (02:18:11). The third place went to Jonathon Kibet (02:18:35).
Shitaye Gemechu won the women’s marathon with a time of 02:46:46. Second and third places went to Jessica Harper (02:50:23) and Liza Galvan (02:53:20).
