The fast and flat, out and back course is run entirely on a sandy beach, along the warm waters of Gulf of Mexico. Have you ever tried to run a whole marathon on hard packed sand?
The course will take you though the gorgeous city of Kyoto, visiting seven UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites and several other highlights of the City of Ten Thousand Shrines.
The race is run in the West Valley of Phoenix and will go through 6 different cities. The course being quite fast and flat. It makes the IMS Arizona Marathon a great Boston Marathon qualifier race.
