Marathon results
Aaron Metler (2:19:29.32) defended his St. George Marathon title against almost 5,500 runners, despite coming in 23 seconds slower than a year ago.
He also won it in 2010.
The USATF certified course in St. George, Utah, takes participants on a scenic descent through the Pine Valley Mountains.
Former winner Fritz Van De Camp (2:22:27.23) finished runner-up for a third year in a row.
He won it in 2012.
Mike J. Nelson (2:27:49.77) managed to hold off Nate R. Clayson (2:28:06.43) for third.
Nelson finished third a year ago.

For the women, it was Amber Green (2:43:13.30) finishing first for the third time in four years.
She placed second in 2013.
Emily J. Barrett (2:47:58.87) earned runner-up honors in this year’s race with a time of 2:47:58.87.
Angie Beebe (2:51:00.17) improved slightly on her fifth-place finish from a year ago to take third.
