RACE
Light Up College Park 5K is Church on the Drive’s premier community event that will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Light Up College Park 5K will benefit the Orange County Educational Social Workers Association (OCESWA). The goal of OCESWA is to make a difference in the lives of families, one that Church on the Drive greatly values. OCESWA over sees the Orange County Public Schools’ Social Workers’ Emergency Needs Fund. This fund is specifically used to meet needs of students and their families in order to enhance a student’s attendance, social, and/or academic performance. Church on the Drive continually supports Orange County Public Schools and their partnership with OCESWA gives children throughout Orlando opportunities for further success.

DAY OF REGISTRATION & PACKET PICK UP
Packet pickup will take place at Church on the Drive. 1914 Edgewater Dr. Orlando, FL 32804 (enter the church office on Yale Street). You may also pick up your packet on race day at race site from 7:00 a.m. to 7:50am.

TEE SHIRTS
Shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants. Shirts not guaranteed on race day.

 AWARDS
Top overall male and female and top 3 male and female age groups will receive awards.

Age groups include: 14 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45 -49, 50-54, 55-59, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,65-69, 70-74, 75+

PARKING
Parking is easy and free! Church on the Drive has multiple parking lots you can use – one between Harvard and Yale Streets and another between Stetson and Dartmouth Streets. Street parking is also available along Edgewater, Harvard, Stetson, Dartmouth, and other neighboring streets. 

 PROCEEDS
The proceeds from this event will go to the Orange County Public Schools’ Social Workers Emergency Fund.

TIMING & SCORING
Race will be timed and scored with a disposable chip provided, which will be attached to the bib.

QUICK FACTS

When and where does the race take place?
Thursday, February 23rd, 2017. The race course will be in the College Park community starting at Church on the Drive going south to Lake Adair and back up to finish at Church on the Drive. Registration opens at 5 PM. Race start time is promptly 6:30 PM.             

 How long is the course?              
The 5K is 3.1 miles.

 How will I be timed?  
The race uses an electronic timing system that records race time and place via a transponder chip, which will be given out when you pick up your race packet. Each individual competing in the 5K is required to use the race chip. Official times will not be recorded without a chip. There will be a clock at the finish line to view your time.

When and where do I pick up my registration materials?
Registration starts at 5PM for all participants – pre-registered and walk-up. Pre-registered runners have a separate registration station that is further split into three lines based on the first letter of the runner’s last name. Walk-Up holders have their own registration station.

 How will I receive my results?
Official results are posted for the top runners in each category, race staff has all results for on-site inquiries and results are posted on the race website.

Can I use my own race chip or tag rather than utilizing the one that is provided?
No, for this year's race, we are not equipped to utilize individuals’ personal chips or tags. 

Who gets a T-shirt? 
Only pre-registered runners that successfully complete the registration and payment processes seven weekdays before the race are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. Pre-registered runners in the seven days leading to the race are first to receive their shirt and preferred size. The remaining shirts for walk-up runners are available until they run out. Also, day-of participants may face limited sizes and availability.

Can I participate in the event with my dog?
Sure! College Park loves pets!

Can I participate with a stroller?x

Sure! College Park loves kids! But, please be aware, about half of the course are brick roads. Please start at the back of the race.

Should I bring my own water?
Yes, but water will be provided on the course and at the finish line.  

How do I register?
You may register online (preferred method). Go to RunSignUp.com. Same day in-person registration is available at the race at 5 PM. Both cash and checks are acceptable.

I will be out of town on race day and not able to participate. Can I get my money returned?
We appreciate your race registration. As the race brochure states, we are unable to issue refunds. We are not in a position to credit your credit card or issue checks. 

 Will the race be held if it's raining?
The race is a "rain or shine" event. All participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, such as in a rain coat or hat. Umbrellas can pose a safety hazard to others, so please do not bring them.  

 What will be provided after the race?
An awards ceremony will take place after the race 9:15am. 

 Can I transfer my entry to someone else?
We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.

 Where do I park?
