About the event
Sihanoukville, named in honour of the then head-of-state, is Cambodia's most happening sun-sloth destination, boasting a stunning coastline of white-sand beaches. Hacked out of the jungle in the late 1950s, the city is now bustling and ever-expanding. For backpackers looking for a break from travelling, the Serendipity Beach area offers a chance to relax, party, and decompress. To help preserve the environment and support land mine victims and disabled people, the Sihanoukville International Half Marathon is held at the beautiful Ochheuteal Beach.

Course details
Course highlights
The starting point of the race will be located in Ochheteal Beach area (as is shown on the website). Running course is kind of some hills, little ups and downs including few beaches along the course that you could see a view of beautiful beaches such as Victory Beach, Sokha Beach, Serendipity Beach (very small to see between Sokha Beach and Serendipity Beach), and downtown area as well. Since you are new to running, however, when to implement hill training into your routine depends on where you are with your training and please take more attention than flat training.

this is my first marathon, this is my first marathon
but less than optimal, most people walk for 8-10 minutes
The first 10km run was really good too
The overall event was great, but the choice of route could have been better (instead of running into the bad-looking city we could run in the seaside. Only 3km on the seaside for the 10km
The Half marathon was a great surprise. No crowded at all and good ambiance. The map of the organization would be need some improvement to show the hills but nothing that would chance my mind about the race.
The U-Turn was '' dramatic'' on a hill and with some authorities greeting the runners.
