Stutter-Steps 5k

FRIENDS is the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to empowering young people who stutter and their families. Our mission is to provide support and education to people who stutter, their families, and clinicians. We believe that every child, teen, and adult deserves to live in a world where they are accepted and empowered.

Lee Caggiano, M.A, C.C.C. is co-founder and Director of FRIENDS. Lee is a Board recognized specialist and mentor in Fluency Disorders. She serves as a consultant to many school districts as well as teaching the graduate level fluency courses at New York University, Queens College, and Long Island Univeristy and is also the mother of a son who stutters.

We hold a large annual convention each July and many regional one-day conferences around the country throughout the year. In 2016, our annual convention is being held in Columbus, Ohio (Dublin) July 28-30. We will also be hosting two one-day conferences here in Ohio in the coming months: October 24 at the University of Toledo and February 27 at Bowling Green State University.

Not only do we serve young people and their families, but also provide invaluable education to SLPs and graduate students and welcome adults who stutter into our community as volunteers.

This is our first 5K to raise money for FRIENDS. All profits are used for scholarships to help families attend the annual convention and conferences. Please join us on April 16 to run or walk in our race. Families and teams are also welcome.
