About the event

About this Activity

Tales and Trails 5K Race will be run on Saturday, April 22, 2017, to benefit the Carroll County Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy. The mission of this organization is to develop literacy among young children in Carroll County, in order to enhance their chances of becoming successful students, and ultimately, educable members of the area work force. We mail age-appropriate books to children ages birth to five along with a newsletter to parents and caregivers to encourage them to read to their children. We currently mail approximately 3300 books each month which represents almost 40% of the eligible children in Carroll County. Our Vision is that by 2025, 90% of pre-school children in Carroll County will receive Ferst Foundation books. Statistics tell us that our children arrive at school ready to learn. Children who read, succeed.

Our website is www.CarrollFerst.org.
