The MEYER Holiday 5k Run For Toys

We will be collecting toys at the event. They will be donated to the Dr. Thomas Kennedy Toy Closet by our 2023 Presenting Sponsors. They should be new, unwrapped, suitable for ages 1-16.
Last year these toys provided age-appropriate and educational toys for pediatric patients receiving care at The Yale New Haven Children's Hospital at Bridgeport.    Our donation direct link - Funds raised will also go to the Dr. Thomas Kennedy Toy Closet. This is a 501c3 charity.

OUR COURSE IS IN THE LORDSHIP SECTION OF STRATFORD -  IT IS SCENIC, TRANQUIL, and FLAT!   Our family-friendly event has a simple goal- to make as many kids as happy as we all can! To help us achieve this goal, as part of your entry fee, we ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy suitable for children between 1-16 years old.  Thanks for joining us and making a difference in our community.   Please note- THIS EVENT IS LIMITED TO JUST 250 PEOPLE !!

We will have giveaways of specially designed 16 oz glasses & reusable bags for as many people as possible. Since we went over our original 200 limit we will run out of these glasses & have other stuff. BUT we WILL NOT run out of adult hydration!

Event entry fees- ONLINE ONLY - EVEN RACE DAY October 1st through 11/30 -                      $15 for age 19 & over,  $12 for 18 & under 12/1-12/8   $20/$15   12/9-12/10  $23/$15- no way! we will be sold out!

 

SATURDAY 12/9- Please try to pickup early and avoid the Sunday CRUNCH.
9:00 - 11am Pickup at the LITTLE PUB- swag & bibs & goodies.  Don’t arrive earlier unless you’re feeding the seagulls - we will not be there. And we are leaving promptly at 11am!   Enjoy a 10% discount if you stay for brunch at Little Pub on Saturday- after 10am!

SUNDAY  12/10 7:45-9:25 Pickup across from the LITTLE PUB in the lot on the corner. Look for the tent/containers. 9:15am The LITTLE TYKES RUN - Directed by DONNA CRAMOND as Executive Kids Race Director and former professional Cat Herder ! The kids will run one tenth mile of sheer delight! 9:30am START  -  Dr. Thomas Kennedy Family - YaleNewHaven Health Bridgeport Hospital Foundation HOLIDAY 5k RUN / walk 

 

When you’re done PLEASE stay and enjoy- The BAGEL BOUTIQUE samples and spreads THE LITTLE PUB’s snacks and froth (21 & over for the froth/wine please!) ATHLETIC BREWING non alcoholic award winning craft brew! Other snacks, fluids, & fun      Awards, prizes, edible items and/or crazy holiday gifts are given to the M&F Champions as well as TWO or maybe even three deep in age groups 9 & under, 10-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ (and older if pre-registered)    AWARDS ALERT- COLLECTOR'S ITEMS TO BE GIVEN OUT! We have the LAST 24 of the 2ft tall NUTCRACKERS from the now defunct Christmas Tree Shop!

 

THIS RACE FREQUENTLY FEATURES LEFTOVER ITEMS & PRIZES FROM PREVIOUS RACES & FROM OUR BASEMENT. Be prepared for "Regifting"...

 

Our scenic and flat 5k course travels through the quiet neighborhood along the water in Stratford. It is FLAT, fun, and easily doable even for the youngest runners. Last year our runners ranged from 6 to 81!  This map is basically the course, but not all the way to the lighthouse.  THIS EVENT MAY BE REDUCED IN DISTANCE IF ROAD & WEATHER CONDITIONS WARRANT IT FOR SAFETY & at the request of the police.

 

OUR SWAG- for 200 registered people- then we close registration! 1) We WILL have special designed 16 ounce glasses. After that - coffee mugs, glasses and bags (from other races).  2) We will have other stuff too, trust me...

We welcome even the youngest of runners and walkers. ALL ABILITIES WELCOME!   ALL REGISTRATION IS ONLINE ONLY - INCLUDING RACE DAY IF NOT SOLD OUT  

“FREE- LITTLE TYKES JINGLE BELL RUN”  RECOMMENDED for ages 9 & under- it is held 15 minutes before the run. This short scamper (200 yards) will be held if conditions are acceptable to ensure the safety of our youngsters. Parents can run with the little ones to help prevent any falls, tears, or drama (from any age).

The ‘Queen of Kids Runs’ Donna Cramond, will be directing the Little Tykes.
