TMC Get Moving Tucson Half Marathon

October 25: 2024 Registration is now open, with early bird pricing through December 31st. Lace 'em up and join us at Tucson's premier half-marathon charity event. The multiple TMC A-Mountain events are designed for all ages and all bodies, runners, walkers, joggers, chair athletes, young and old -- everyone is welcome!    We're coming back to the A . . . A-Mountain that is.  We're planning on staging the 2024 edition once again at the super-cool Mercado San Agustin Annex, a perfect post-run venue, with music, food and more. Thanks to TMC and Rio Nuevo for helping fund this classic Tucson adventure!  We've been running our entire lives so we know that runners and walkers come in all shapes, all sizes, all bodies.   This is a beautiful sport and we're super-psyched to have everyone join us! Thanks to SarahK for the recent email that closed with this sentence: Thank you for creating such a fun community that welcomes even us slow runners ;).  Three Distances: whatever your fitness, whatever your goals, we've got you covered!

* TMC A-Mountain Half Marathon.  We've crafted a beautiful 13.1 mile course that loops up and down A-Mountain and does an out-and-back on the speedy Santa Cruz Riverpath.  The start and finish lines will most likely be on Cushing Street, at the Mercado Annex.

* TMC A-Mountain Four-Mile Run/Walk.  Instead of a 5k this year, we think it would be fun to do a 4-miler up and down A-Mountain.  Walk or run or roll: this scenic route is designed for walkers, runners, and chair athletes of all ages and abilities!

* Cox Free Family Mile and SAR Free FitKidz. Children under 12 will be registered in the SAR FitKidz program with all the classic SAR FitKidz goodies.  12 and over? Come out and join us for an easy mile jaunt.

Music at the finish: we'll get someone fun to play the main stage finisher's party at the Mercado Annex

Food, drinks and other fun post-race activities to celebrate your accomplishments. After the race, chillax with a Westbound beverage or Decibel coffee drink and celebrate your accomplishment.

Community 

Third and final race of the 2024 Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown, raising funds for BEYOND-Tucson.

The TMC A-Mountain Half-Marathon is part of the SAR Running Shop Mizuno Grand Prix.

Thanks to Cox Communications and Cox Charities, the race provides funds to local non-profits, Team Hoyt Arizona and Step up to Justice

Race Weekend Schedule

Thursday, October 18th: Pop-Up Packet Pickup and Registration at Petroglyphs

4:00-6:00 pm, at Petroglyphs, 160 South Avenida del Convento, near the MSA Annex

Petroglyphs is a long-standing Southwestern furniture and housewares emporium. They have graciously helped us put together the MSA Annex staging area, so we're happy to welcome the running community to their place for a pre pre-race packet pickup and registration. Come on by and get $10 off anything in his store . . . then swing over to Westbound and show 'em your number for a discounted drink at their bar and bottle-shop. Yes: registration is still open. Yes: Shirt sizing is first come, first served. Shirts are in both "women's cut" and "unisex" cut. 

Saturday, October 19

10:00 am 1:00 pm Packet pickup and registration at The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell Ave

Yes: You can pick up items for friends -- please limit the number of packet pickups if it is crowded
Yes: Shirts come in both standard "unisex cut" and "women's cut"
Yes: T-shirt sizing first come, first served for all those who registered before September 9th.
Yes: Please follow the Running Shop's posted public health protocols. 
Yes: It may be crowded, but please be kind to the staff at the Running Shop and the volunteers.
Yes: You can pick up your race schwag in person, then do the event virtually. We'll post the virtual result link soon!

YES, you should shop: Take some time to shop at the Running Shop -- check out their sale shoes, their race day nutrition, and other items you may want out on the course on Sunday.

Sunday, October 20

5:30-6:15 am Packet pickup and registration at the Mercado Annex

6:00 am: Planned pre-race stretch and warmup

6:30 am: Start for the TMC Half-Marathon and the TMC 4-Miler

8:00 am: Approximate opening of Westbound Bar and Bottle Shop, with discounted drinks for participants

8:15: Approximate start time for the free COX Family Mile and SAR FitKidz Mile

9:30 am: Approximate start time for awards, courtesy of TMC and the Running Shop

11:00 am: Approximate cut-off time for half-marathoners

Beneficiaries: Proceeds will benefit Step up to Justice, Team Hoyt Arizona, the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation, and the Southern Arizona Roadrunners

Post-Race

Remaining shirts and medals available at The Running Shop (3055 North Campbell) on a first-come, first-served basis through November (be mindful of that they produce the Thanksgiving Day Classic, so it will be crowded around Thanksgiving!)
