We Run So They Can Soar 5K

The We Run So They Can Soar 5K is raising money to support Sunrise Day Camp.  Sunrise Day Camp is the only full summer day camp that provides a fun, safe camp experience to children with cancer and their siblings free of charge. For the past ten years, Sunrise has provided an opportunity for these kids to experience life as a normal child, free from the everyday struggles that come with their illness.  All donations go directly to Sunrise to help send these children to this camp, that runs entirely on donations.  

This race will not be officially timed, however there will be a clock for you to personally record your time.

We want to make sure that we can donate as much money as possible to this amazing cause.

Please come out and run or walk and help us send a child to camp.

As a former Sunrise Day Camp counselor, I have seen first hand the amazing things this organization does.  Throughout my time at Sunrise, I have both lost campers, coworkers, and best friends, but I have also seen children who have gone into remission, finished treatments, and even donated bone marrow to save a sibling's life.  These children are beyond awe-inspiring, and have personally taught me how to appreciate and respect the life you are given.  It costs $6,000 to send one child to camp because of the medical team and modified sports equipment needed to keep the camp a safe environment for these children.  Without donations, these children might not have been given the opportunity to experience make camp memories that many people may take for granted.
