Launched over a year ago the Runczech.com running series today offer 6 races in 4 most enchanting cities of the Czech Republic, giving a unique opportunity to combine two great loves – running and travelling. Variety of distances and disciples, organization according to the highest international standards (IAAF/AIMS), unique race atmosphere and rich cultural events attract both – professional athletes and recreational runners from over 90 countries. Choose one of the big races in the Historical Prague or escape the hassle and bustle of the city by joining one of the regional runs outside the capital.

Hervis Prague Half Marathon (6 April, 2013, IAAF Road Race Gold Label) is the largest race of the whole running circuit and is ranked one of the fastest in the world (Atsedu Tsegay, 58:47 (2012). 12 000 runners are expected to flood the streets of Prague in early April willing to complete a flat and fast course that allows to enjoy some of the famous Prague’s sites: Rudolfinum Concert Hall, Charles Bridge, National Theatre, Prague Castle, Jewish Courter and others. Picturesque scenery along the way and great race organization are only a few reasons why most of the runners tend to come back to Prague and complete Half Marathon over and over again. In 2012 the race was sold out at the end of January so the organizers advise to register early in order to assure participation.

Launched in 1995 the Volkswagen Prague Marathon (12 May, 2013) was the first race to be organized in the beautiful Czech Capital – Prague. Starting with 950 runners today the Marathon in Prague, awarded with the IAAF Road Race Gold Label, attracts over 9 000 athletes and counts it’s 19th edition. One of the reasons of such popularity is the race course. Starting in the Old Town Square right under the famous Astronomical Clock the rout crosses the Charles Bridge – arguably the most beautiful Gothic bridge in the world, and leads throughout the different neighbourhoods of the historical city. Even though the full marathon distance is demanding the time limit of seven hours allows slower runners and beginners to participate as well.

Mattoni Grand Prix Prague (7 September, 2013) adds a whole different sensation to running in Prague. Taking place in early September Prague Grand Prix offers runner friendly weather conditions as well as a unique opportunity to run at night through the illuminated streets of the city. Distances vary from 5 (for women only) to 10 kilometres (open for men and women) making the race manageable almost for everyone despite age and fitness abilities. And you don’t have to chase for the best time to make your run significant – Prague completes the experience!

As beautiful as it is, but Czech Capital isn’t the only running destination in the Czech Republic. The Runczech.com organizing team invites to explore some of the most scenic regions of the country. In running shoes of course!

České Budějovice Half Marathon (8 June, 2013), held in South Bohemian metropolis, is famous for being a home of the world renowned Budweiser Beer. How much more Czech can you get? The Half Marathon course starts and finishes right in the heart of the town and leads along the valley giving a chance to admire both – the Baroque architecture of the city and green landscapes. Being only an hour drive from Germany and Austrian boarders Half Marathon in České Budějovice might be just a pleasant start of your active weekend…

The 4th Olomouc Half Marathon (22 June, 2013) held in Czech Moravia makes a nice addition to the race pack and is a perfect way to spice up your holiday with family and friends. Choose the full half marathon course, make competitors sweat in a Relay or take part in a Family Run and enjoy the baroque town of Olomouc, famed for its numerous churches, unique astronomical clock, UNESCO Holy Trinity Column and other attractive sites in Olomouc region.

Those runners who enjoy a bit more urban feeling of the race, Ústí Half Marathon (15 September, 2013) just might do the trick. The half marathon course leads alongside the river Elbe opening a view to impressive rock formations, Mariansky bridge, Strekov castle, and then crosses the area of a chemical factory which is a perfect example of industrial architecture of the First Republic. Approximately 3000 runners are expected to cross the start line early September in the 3rd edition of Usti Half Marathon.
