Set among the rolling hills of Connecticut’s classic New England scenery, the Hog’s Back Half Marathon is said by race organizers to be a ‘very fast and stunning course.’ The 13.1-mile race takes place during the area’s peak fall foliage season, and the course takes runners from the starting line at the Goodwin Dam on Durst Road through the towns of Riverton, Pleasant Valley, Hartland and Colebrook, with ample views of the Farmington River and the nearby Peoples State Forest. The course features an elevation change over the course of the entire race of about 100 feet, so the race is indeed largely flat.
