Harmony Silvester

The Harmony Silvester Celebration is a family focused event in Historic Harmony that honors its German heritage by celebrating Silvester (New Year’s Eve) on German time 6:00 PM (midnight in Germany). Kicking off the event, there is a 5K race starting at 3:30 PM, followed by a 1 Mile Fun Run at 4:15. We will count-down to a ball-drop in German at 6:00 p.m., followed by fireworks and singing of Auld Lang Syne.

First 300 5K runners receive a long-sleeve race shirt. Awards to overall top 3 and top 3 in age brackets.

All 1 Mile participants receive a finisher's medal. Parents may run free with their children.

Event Start Location - Registration will be held in the Grace Church Gymnasium at 538 Main Street, Harmony, PA 16037.

Parking available at the church and nearby. Changing facilities available at the gym.

Race starts and ends across from the entrance to the Harmony Museum parking lot on Mercer Road.

5K Course Description - Course is an out and back starting out going slightly downhill, then one large hill followed by a flat stretch parallel to the Connoquenessing Creek. The last 1/2 mile to the finish will be slightly uphill.

1 Mile Course Description - Course is flat and remains in town doing a loop.

Awards 5K - Top 3 Male & Female Overall. Top 3 Male & Female in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75+. Awards can be picked in the gymnasium immediately following the race. Note the gym will close at 5:45 so the volunteers can attend the count-down.

Packet Pickup - Early packet pick-up at Grace Church Youth Center (Dec 30th - 5 - 7 PM). Race day starting at 1:30 PM at the Grace Church Youth Center. Other Activities - Food vendors and plenty of other activities happening. Weather - We will hold the event except for extreme weather (lighting, etc.) Directions - Grace Church as the destination at 538 Main Street, Harmony PA 16037. Parking - Parking is available between church and youth center. Once lot fills, ample parking close by.
