Rowan Rotary Spooky Sprint 5K Run/Walk

The 13th Annual Spooky Sprint 5k at Catawba College Shuford Stadium in Salisbury, NC - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023!  See course map below.  There will be a 1/2-Mile Fun Run (two laps around the track) immediately following the 5k!

Proceeds from the race will go to our youth programs, making a difference in the lives of children in our community.  The Service Above Self Awards recognize our youth ages 5 to 18 for their service to others.  Every year, Rowan Rotary sponsors students form our local high schools to attend a leadership-training event.

5K Registration Fee: $25 (mail-in through October 20 and online through October 28)
                                    $30 (on-site on October 29)

Fun Run Registration Fee:  $10

Awards (5k):  1st overall male and female - $50 and memento. 

Medals will be given to the top 3 in each of the following divisions for male and female runners:  9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & above

Overall winners not eligible for age group awards.  Awards will not be mailed.

Awards (Fun Run):  1st overall male and female - trophy.  2nd & 3rd overall male and female - medal.  All fun run participants will receive a medal.

T-shirts – 5k run/walk participants receive a long sleeve T-shirt.

Free to registrants!: The first 75 people to register will receive a 3-piece massage recovery kit.  The next 75 people will receive a running belt for keys/phone.  All registrants after 150 will receive a warm/cold gel pack.

Check-In:  12:00 - 1:30 p.m. check-in and race packet pick up at the registration desk in Catawba College Stadium.

Costume Contest:  Contest for best costumes, children and adults, judged by a panel of Rotarians.  Adult winner will receive a $50 gift card.  Children will receive prizes for 1st and 2nd place.

Cancellation Policy:  In case of inclement weather, the race may be delayed for up to one hour or canceled if we determine existing conditions pose a safety hazard for the participants.  We reserve the right to cancel or modify the event based on state and federal guidelines regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
