Description

Race type
Half Marathon

The course begins with the beautiful Estrella Mountains framing the starting line to the South in Goodyear, Arizona. As the sun rises across the starting line, marathon runners will be inspired by the magic and beauty of the desert terrain and fauna. As runners move through Goodyear, home of the Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds spring training facilities, they will experience the beautiful natural desert setting. The uniqueness of the West Valley will continue to inspire participants as the half marathon begins in Avondale, home of Phoenix International Raceway and NASCAR. Avondale is a larger city which still boasts a small town feel. The course progresses on to Litchfield Park, where runners will appreciate the truly Southwest flair of the historic town. Runners will wind their way through the three beautiful Jack Palmer golf courses surrounding the luxurious Wigwam Resort and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. Runners will focus on the University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, Super Bowl XLII, and the Phoenix Coyotes, as they approach the final mile. The finish line will be a picture perfect finish with the Bellagio style water feature guiding the runners to the finish line at Westgate City Center. All marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s cap too!
