An absolutely beatiful mostly shaded flat trail marathon at Auroville near Pondicherry, India. Organized very well by the Auroville volunteers, it is the most beautiful marathon I have run thus far in India. The journey is very rewarding especially if you are also interested in Aurobindo (poet, mystic, philosopher) and his Magnum Opus, Savitri. Before and after the run there are innumerable things to do such as see the visitor center, Savitri Mandir, etc. There is also the beach just 12K away from Auroville. Don’t miss Auroville’s bread and cheese while you are there.
Very very strongly recommended. I know as I have run marathons and ultra marathons all over the world and this ranks up there.
