Achtung! Der Brocken-Marathon ist ein Wettkampf mit ganz besonderen Anforderungen. Über 1000 Höhenmeter machen diesen Marathon zu einem der schwierigsten Ausdauerläufe Deutschlands. Nur sehr gut trainierte Läuferinnen und Läufer sollten diese Herausforderung annehmen. Auf dem Brockengipfel herrscht Hochgebirgsklima. Mit starkem Wind und Wetterumschlag muss gerechnet werden. Jeder Teilnehmer sollte sich darauf einstellen und trägt die persönliche Verantwortung für seine Gesundheit. Für den Fall, dass auf dem Brocken unzumutbare Wetterbedingungen erwartet werden, behält sich der Veranstalter operativ eine Streckenveränderung vor. Kurz vor und nach der Brockenkuppe überquert die Marathonstrecke die Gleise der Brockenbahn. Bei Annäherung eines Zuges wird die Laufstrecke vorübergehend von Sicherungsposten gesperrt. Den Anweisungen der Sicherungsposten ist Folge zu leisten. Andernfalls droht die Disqualifikation!
Teilnehmer des Brocken-Marathons die bis 12.00 Uhr den Brocken nicht passiert haben, werden aus der Wertung genommen.
