Mauritius Half Marathon
Description
- Race type
- Half Marathon
Mauritius is already widely known for its lagoons, beaches and the hotel services, but could have a new asset: an international marathon along the beautiful coastal roads. Mauritius Marathon combines sport challenge and discovery of the natural and cultural heritage of Mauritius. At each corner, from Le Morne village to the finish at Saint Felix public beach, the course unveils sights which are spectacular, specially the unforgettable views on the vast lagoon of the south. We had more than 200 participants in July 2012 and are aiming to triple this number in 2013 for the fourth edition. We also had the oldest runner in the world: Fauja Singh who was 101 years old when he came to participate. Fauja also participated in the Marathon of London in 2012 and was one of the Olympic torchbearers. We also have a half marathon (21.1 kms) on the same date and on the same track (South coast).
