I have run Prague in 07, 08 and 09. The organization is the best I've ever seen and seems to be getting even better every year. Course is pretty flat with few cobblestones but that was not a problem for me. There are few out-and-back loops, which I didn't mind as you can see Elite runners and faster friends. Running through the city centre with all main sites is magical with medieval feeling. Just 1 mile after the start you crossing the Charles Bridge which is closed to the public and amazing experience for the runners. Quite a few bands playing along the course adding nice atmosphere and crowds cheering you on mainly in the centre. Water and energy drinks are served @ every 5km though last 3 years was extreamly hot and at the last minute the organisers worked amazingly to add extra drink stations so that you could drink every 2km after the 1st half. Food served are bananas and oranges almost every 5km. There is usually also alcohol-free beer around the course which is a nice change from the sweet energy drinks. Water sponges are every 5km but again last 3 years you could cool down every 2.5km. Water showers were at 2 locations in the middle of the race. The Expo is quite big and also very well organised with pre-race celebrations and free pasta party for the runners. T-shirt is the best I've ever received for a marathon. I would definitelly recomend this race, I run in region 10-15 marathons a year but Prague is the only one I run every year.

Thank you Vincente. There was a mismatch between the half marathon and the marathon date.

Vicente over 5 years ago

There are a mistake in the date of the Prague Marathon. It's in may, not in march!!!
