After the great success of the 2010 and 2011 Round The Island event, Extreme Energy are delighted to put in the diary the Round The Island 2012 multistage ultra, following the Isle of Wight Coastal Path.

The Round The Island sailing race is an annual, famous event which up to 2000 yachts take part in every year, from professional racers on huge yachts to amateurs and families on their smaller boats. So we thought wouldn’t it be fun to run a Round The Island Race on the same weekend. We will run clockwise round the island which will mean that amongst the stunning views of the main land and the English Channel we will be able to see all the boats come around the Island as the afternoon goes on.

We will be in West Cowes Friday night. The place will be buzzing with yachts prior to the next days racing.

This event will suit those who want a new challenge, people looking for an alternative to running marathons, those training for events like the Marathon des Sables or anyone who just wants a fabulous scenic run around the Isle of Wight with a great fun environment and great bunch of people.
