The trail world’s champion and also ultra route Europe’s champion has confirmed his participation in the seventh edition of The Everest Trail Race by The Elements Pure Coconut Water.

The runner from Burgos will return to the race in which he participated in 2013.

He finished, but could not fight for the first positions because of a femoral bicep injury. "It was one of the first races where I could not compete with the leading runners. I shared with the popular ones. I learned that there are many ways to participate in a competition and that all of them have their merit. It was too hard for me”, explains Hernando.

Present race edition will take place from 5 to 17 November 2017 in the Himalayas of Nepal. This demanding race is divided into six stages, covering a distance of 160km with 30.000m of vertical gain. World’s giants as Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam will be seen in a landscape that is perhaps the best possible scenario for a mountain race.

“The Himalayas is a place of reference for a nature lover… where you would like to run every year and know it better. For those who like the mountain, we all know that the Himalayas always have a special attraction ", says Luis Alberto that this year will feel the attraction of Nepal again. In addition, another of the aspects that more impacted to the champion was the companionship that lived in the camp before and after each stage where organization and runners form a great family.

Accustomed to single-day races, in The Everest Trail Race By The Elements Pure Coconut Water “one can share more”, says the runner.

Apart from Luis Alberto Hernando, Elisabet Barnes has confirmed her participation in the race. The Swedish athlete has won two editions of the Marathon des Sables and will also be on the ETR starting line next November.
