Running Events

Running is more than just a great form of aerobic exercise. It’s been proven to be good for your mental health, memory and energy levels. And as a runner, you become part of a global community. A running race can bring together participants from all over the world to compete with and motivate each other.

Be part of a truly inclusive community

Running is one of the very few sports where amateur and first time competitors can participate in a running race along the past or current Olympic, world or national champions. Runners are not separated into gender or age groups. Everyone starts together, which creates a great feeling of unity and belonging.

From fun runs and half-marathons to full marathons and even ultramarathons, the variety of road running competitions open to you is huge. The most popular distances are: 5 km, 10 km, half-marathon (21.0975 km) and marathon (42.195 km). With the increasing popularity of ultra-running competitions, distances like the 50 km and 100 km are becoming common, although more often as trail than road races.

Courses of road running races often remain open for a long time, to allow participants of all fitness levels to compete. Most marathons are open up to 6 or 7 hours from the start, which makes it possible to jog or run-walk the course.

Whatever you want from your next running event, with our comprehensive running calendar, you’re sure to find something to bring you together with like-minded athletes.
