Join us for our 1st Annual 22 for 22 March for Veteran Suicide as 22 veterans trek 13 miles carrying a 45lb ruck sack through beautiful Naugatuck, CT!  We welcome individual walkers as well as teams of walkers young and old!  The Elks Lodge will be stationed throughout the course to provide any assistance needed as well as refreshements and some power snacks to keep us going.

So let’s get together and walk together to bring awareness to this important and amazing organization and show our veterans that we support them!  Freedom isn’t free and some have paid the ultimate sacrifice and we owe them so much.

Mission 22 is a collaboration between Elder Heart, a veteran non-profit organization, and a global advertising agency. Elder Heart is comprised of Delta Force and Special Forces operators Tom Spooner, Magnus Johnson, and Mike Kissel. Because of their personal battles with PTSD and TBI they have made it their mission to raise awareness, enlist support, and end veteran suicide in America.  The funds raised for Mission 22 and Elder Heart are used to develop unique programs within communities to assist veterans with their transition back into the civilian world and handling PTSD and TBI.  Mission 22 and Elder Heart are also building a memorial to commemorate the one war in the history of the United States that hasn’t had a memorial and that’s the war that veterans fight on the homefront when they return.

These amazing events are not only successful in raising funds for Mission 22 to help support our returning veterans, but they also continue the quest of community involvement in this serious problem.  We need to let our veterans suffering with PTSD, TBI and thoughts of suicide know that we stand by them and that their communities are here for them.
