5k and 10k Sun Run presented by Festival Napa Valley

Time to dust off the running shoes for Festival Napa Valley's third annual Sun Run. The popular 5K and 10 K race starts at Lincoln Theater in Yountville, and participants can choose to run, jog, or walk along the Vine Trail, to and through charming downtown Yountville, and into the surrounding vineyards. All proceeds go towards supporting the Napa County Alliance for Arts Education, a coalition dedicated to promoting arts education access, equity and quality in Napa County K-12 public schools.

The Sun Run 5k route begins at the Lincoln Theater at the Veteran’s Home in Yountville. The course runs along California Drive beneath a canopy of fir and oak trees before it connects to the Napa Valley Vine Trail. Runners will tour the 1 mile completed section of trail adjacent to the beautiful town of Yountville as part of the out and back section of the course.

The Sun Run 10K course will begin at the Lincoln Theater at the Veteran’s Home in Yountville. The course runs along California Drive beneath a canopy of fir and oak trees before it connects to the Napa Valley Vine Trail. Runners will follow the trail north, adjacent to the town of Yountville, where gardens, shops and restaurants will be in view. At the north end of the trail the course will tour a quaint neighborhood before returning to the Vine Trail. The course retraces its footsteps south on the Vine Trail and then passes beneath Highway 29. The runners then head north to a turn around on Solano Avenue along the vineyards of Domaine Chandon. Upon returning from the out and back section, the course will then run clockwise around the grounds of the Veterans Home along California Drive. After passing the baseball field the race will return to the start/finish area at the Lincoln Theater.
