It was the first time i have ever participated on this event. The organisation was excellent, and i loved the route. It was a bit hilly, but as we were not a huge crowd, we managed to run comfortably with enough space, without stopping on the narrow roads. The environment is very nice.

Great route, well organized race, cutest people in the world, amazing environment. Not a fast route, enjoy the ride and the scenery. Mostly gravel, little asphalt, little mud :) Trail running shoes definitely.

I was born and raised in the heart of NYC, so I am not at all used to seeing so much nature up close! Everyone else laughed, but I was genuinely excited to see cows for the FIRST time face to face. The forests were BEAUTIFUL, and the lakes were pristine. Although there was some mud on the course, the weather overall was excellent. Racing in NYC I am used to seeing multiple thousands of runners, but this was a much smaller event and I felt it was organized well considering there were so many people internationally. I was nervous at first and switched to do the half marathon, but then changed my mind on the day of to do the marathon, and Waia was exceptional with helping me switch back multiple times without issue. The course itself I felt was marked VERY well--each time I reached a ribbon, the next one was well within sight distance. I did get lost once, but that was my fault because I was distracted by a farm and not focusing on where the next ribbon was haha. I took my time with the course because there were some technical parts on the trail that you needed to be very careful with rocks and tree roots that could snag your ankle. I saw foragers with baskets picking berries and mushrooms. I saw sheep, horses, and giant mushrooms all around. The smell of nature in the air was unforgettable. The kindness of the race staff at each aid station was very welcoming--and they were also placed at good distances from each other. I absolutely love the environmentally friendly aspect of the race as well--that's a big part of what drew me to fly across the world to run it in the first place! It was the most beautiful run I have done in my life, and I am looking forward to doing it again! My last marathon experience was the complete opposite experience and almost destroyed my inspiration for running completely. Thank you 6 Lakes for reinvigorating my love for running and inspiring me to continue running further than I've ever dreamed!

Be careful in the first 10km in the forest, there were plenty of places you could accidentally twist your ankle! Take your time and enjoy the beautiful nature! :)

The route for the half marathon was amazing - you go through forests, around the lake and through villages (seeing the traditional red houses). It’s mostly running on gravel/road so it’s not too much running on uneven ground. We were unfortunately running in the rain for the most part so be prepared!

It was well organised and a very nice location - not too far from Stockholm. For the first 9km it was a beautiful course and a very nice run, with the only minor complaint being that maybe the signs/ribbons could have been slightly better as people did go the wrong way occasionally. However the last 1.5km was horrific, we ran across a field with very soft ground (almost like a beach) and lots of divets/holes. I like a challenging run but this was dangerous, it's a miracle none of us were injured

A pretty tough course with lots of minor hills (nothing crazy steep). One section goes through a field with very soft ground which was horrible/dangerous and then the end part heads through the forest which would have been great for hiking but was not really suitable for running

In a beautiful surrounding and a fantastic weather (not to sunny, not to warm) we passed picturesque typical Swedish cottages, Forrest, lakes and reached the goal where we could take a bath in a lake as a final. Friendly event with people from all over the world. Sweden is fantastic and the town Uppsala is close. They take You there, it’s included. There You have the old university, a river, and a castle among a very friendly environment. Go to Stockholm as well, it’s easy by train 30 minutes away, and visit one of the most beautiful capitals in the world! The clean amazing Stockholm is built on islands and nice white boats can take You to the archipelago for a day or more. Sandhamn is recommended but there are more places. Rent a bike. Stay. And enjoy! The food in Stockholm can be the worlds best. Just do it! :-)

Great race, but the average temp above 28 burns my parts of my energy. But the organization and route are quite well. If you would like to run this one, a nice experience.
