A Dash of Color the cheeriest 5K in the universe

The 3rd annual “A Dash of Color” Run is held at University of Maine Machias (UMM) campus. Healthy Acadia and UMM Wellness Team are excited to invite community members to participate in "A Dash of Color" 5K run/walk on Saturday. September 17, 2016.  The race will begin at 9:00am in the parking lot next to The Fitness Center at UMM, Machias Maine. This is an out and back loop course along the streets of beautiful down town Machias. 

The 2016 "A Dash of Color" is dedicated to those affected by addiction and in memory to those who have lost their battle with the disease.  Healthy Acadia's “A Dash of Color” helps to raise awareness and generate support for the Downeast Teen Leadership Camp, or DETLC, which focuses on the importance of youth education and peer support in preventing substance and tobacco use among youth. DETLC is a 5-day residential summer camp experience for teens held on the University of Maine at Machias campus. DELTC challenges and empowers teens by providing them with the skills necessary to positively impact their lives and those in their communities. Healthy Acadia staff and volunteer mentors, many of which are DETLC alumni, create a safe and fun environment for teens to be themselves while exploring ways they can serve as positive role models for their peers and siblings. 

 Entry fee is: $20, for individual, $25 day of the race.

Team: $15/$20 day of the race, Team Rate = Per-Person

Team (2+) Runner/Walkers: A team is 2+ friends running, laughing, and dancing through the course together. You don't need a full team to get started! Get yourself signed up today and then round up your team!  Encourage them to signup ASAP...creating a team does not hold or reserve spots.  The event can sell out at any time

Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the event check-in. 

Registration/check-in begins at 8:00 AM the day of the event. No registrations will be accepted after 8:45AM, Registration will close at 8:45AM SHARP! The Happiness begins at 9:00AM. The first 50 registrants will receive a free, "A Dash of Color" t-shirt.

A Dash of Color event will serve to kick-off National Recovery Month. This year's theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: Our Families, Our Stories, Our Recovery!” highlights the important role that individuals and communities alike have in helping people lead healthy, productive and substance-free lives.
