ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot

On Thanksgiving Day in Duck, the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot is as traditional as pumpkin pie! Runners & walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Our event is a non-sanctioned 5K run/walk open to people of all ages and abilities. All participants should be physically able to finish and be off the course within 60 minutes.

We start at our event's sponsor, Advice 5¢, a bed & breakfast, and end with a Finish Line full of music, refreshments, and prizes! As is tradition, the INFAMOUS PUMPKIN PIES are awarded to our First Female, Male, and Youth Runners along with our First Walker. There are no other awards or age group recognitions. But the bottom line of this race is all about FUN -- for our runners, our walkers, their families, and our whole Duck community!

Net proceeds from the ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot are donated to the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot Fund. Established in 2013, this permanent charitable endowment is managed by the Outer Banks Community Foundation. Its purpose is to award nonprofit grants for projects that improve and support the health and wellness of all the people of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
