Alex Wake Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk

This Alex Wake ’05 Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk is held annually to raise awareness of domestic violence and to celebrate the life of Alex Wake ’05, who was a victim of domestic violence. Alex was a joyful and vibrant member of the community and an enthusiastic participant in school activities including the Cross Country and Winter Track Teams. Her contributions to our community as a scholar, athlete and friend were invaluable. This Run/Walk offers something for everyone, from competitive runners to the youngest children. In Alex’s honor, Baldwin established the Alex Wake ’05 Memorial Scholarship Fund. The purpose of this endowed fund is to assist a qualified young woman such as Alex in the pursuit of a college preparatory education at The Baldwin School. Proceeds from this event directly benefit the scholarship.

9:00 a.m. One Mile Fun Walk

9:00 a.m. 5K Run

The 5K Run/1M Walk will be a road race beginning and ending on the CAMPUS OF THE BALDWIN SCHOOL.
To receive your free t-shirt, please indicate your size(s) when registering. Only participants who register prior to April 15 are guaranteed shirts. NO DOGS please.

Finisher Medals will be given to everyone completing the Run/Walk.

REGISTRATION FEES
Student: $20 Adult: $30

Important Information and Restrictions: Parking will not be available on the Baldwin campus on race day. Registration and Bib Pickup will be in front of the Baldwin Athletic Center. The race will begin at the Baldwin flag banners and loop through the neighborhood, ending through the Baldwin front gates and back to the finish line in front of the Athletic Center.

PRIZES, MEDALS, AND CATEGORIES
Gift Certificates from the Bryn Mawr Running Company will be awarded to the top female and male runners overall.
First, Second, and Third Place Medals will be awarded to the female and male runners in the following age groups:
10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over

REGISTER AS A TEAM AND JOIN THE FUN! Here's how: Gather your family, friends, club participants, or sports teammates and make a Team! Create a Team Name and Theme. At least 7 members  must dress up as a group(i.e. matching hair ribbons, neon colors, sports uniforms, be creative!) Each Team member MUST register individually at RunSignUp.com under their team name to count.
