Algoma Shanty Days 5K

The Algoma Shanty Days 5K is a fun-filled family event. This year marks our 26th anniversary!  The 5K includes a start and finish at the Robert Ray Gallery.  You'll race through the town past historic Von Stiehl Winery, run by the 2nd and 4th St. bridges, be sure to look right to catch a glimpse of the last 2 remaining shanties.  You'll get a whiff of Bearcat's famous smoked fish as you continue your course past 2 city parks, then up toward Algoma High School then a quick out and back. From there it's smooth sailing as you travel downhill along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline to the finish! 

The race includes a t-shirt, chip-timing, post race refreshments, and same day race results.  You'll enjoy seeing old friends and making new ones at this great event!  Come down and experience "More at the Shore", and celebrate 26 years of the Algoma Shanty Days 5K! 

Packet pickup will be at the Algoma Parks and Rec Dept (Youth Club)...620 Lake Street, Algoma, from 3-6pm on Friday and at the race start from 6:30-7:30am on Saturday.
