OUR STORY IS OUR MISSION
As a God-centered medical, educational, and entrepreneurial community for individuals with disabilities, Holy Angels provides an environment that cares for each person’s unique needs. This independent, 501©(3) nonprofit organization delivers complex health care, creates meaningful jobs, builds a sense of belonging, and demands dignity and respect for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Not only does Holy Angels provide high level acute medical care, which is an important part of the region’s healthcare offerings, but this unique organization is also meeting the community need for job training and employment of individuals with disabilities. At the Holy Angels Autism Center, children, teens and young adults with Austim Spectrum Disorder are receiving cutting-edge care through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
THE BENEFITS OF THE ANGEL RUN
Holy Angels’ David Rice Memorial Walk & Run is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together for a fun event while making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You and your teammates will walk and run along a scenic route in southeast Shreveport. This is the only walk and run held in this area and gives all who participate the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the neighborhoods of Ellerbe Road. You don’t want to miss this unique run that benefits the lives of the residents at Holy Angels!
WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?
There continues to be a $1.5 million/year gap in funding needed to care for those whose lives have been entrusted to Holy Angels. 86 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to care for our clients.
Financial support from the community allows those served to: 1) acquire meaningful job skills, 2) experience the pride that accompanies the ability to work in a community-integrated setting, 3) grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Race Start time: 8:00 a.m.
Participants will run and/or walk though the scenic piney woods of south Shreveport. It gives participants the rare opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the area and explore Holy Angels’ grounds.
