Anthem is pleased to partner with CASA as the beneficiary of the 2014 Anthem Turkey Day 5k.
With the holiday season approaching us, all donations will be given to the families of CASA. For more information on donating further with CASA, visit https://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/50389/donate_page/donate
Every day in this country, 1,900 children become victims of abuse or neglect, and four of them will die. Every day. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children is a network of 951 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in courtrooms and communities. Volunteer advocates—empowered directly by the courts—offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care.
Volunteers stay with children until they are placed in loving permanent homes. For many abused children, a CASA volunteer is the only constant adult presence in their lives.
Their current focus for donations on Thanksgiving Day: Sports Equipment
Sports Equipment for 5-13 year olds in the $5-$15 range: sports balls, rackets, shin guards, mouth guards, gloves, helmets, etc.
Dogs are welcome!! Please make sure that your well behaved dog is on a leash at all times.
Unless you’re "in it to win it," we ask that all racers who will be running with their dogs start in the designated ‘dog wave.’ Look for the volunteers with pace group signs as you line up to start the race. The dog wave will be near the end, before the walkers.
We’ll be taking LOTS of pictures during the race and you’ll be able to find pictures in these locations in the days following the event:
