The inaugural Bartram High School Band Spirit Run is a collaborative effort between school, parents, and the local community. It is our hope to host an event that will appeal to all ages, involves our school, and our community to build awareness and offer a family-friendly environment, and engages our students to actively raise funds to support and improve the band program, and boost school spirit.
The Bartram Trail High School Band – THE SPIRIT OF BARTRAM – boasts an ever growing program; currently reaching nearly 250 members. The band has had a history of musical success at local, state, and national level performances. Proceeds from this event will help the band purchase new music and instruments, and help to provide more musical opportunities for students in the band. The 5k Run is a good old fashioned 5k event open to runners and walkers of all abilities. Awards will be given as listed in the awards section. Each participant will be chip timed and results will be available.
Grab your friends and family and enter the Centipede 5k Race. Teams must have a minimum of five people finish the race together to be eligible for awards. Teams may have as many members as they want. All team members must run together and start and finish in a line as a Centipede. Teams will be ranked in order of finish of their first runner to cross the finish line. Teams must finish together. Teams that have more than a 30 second difference between their first and fifth runner will not be eligible for awards. Each runner on the team will wear a timing chip so that all runners will have a time shown for the race in addition to times for the teams. Note – Each runner on the team must register and pay the registration fee to participate.
The Fun Run is an untimed run/walk just for fun, no longer than one mile for those wanting to parcipate in the event without having to traverse the 5k distance. The fun run is not timed, there will not be results provided, and there are not any awards.
The following race registration fees include all online processing fees for both the 5k individual run and the Centipede 5k run:
Early Registration – $25.00 through 9/30/16
Regular Registration – $30.00 – 10/1/16 through 11/12/16
Late Registration – $35.00 – 11/13/16 through 11/16/16 at 3:00pm
Day of Race Registration
$40.00 – Available at the race location only from 6:30am to 7:45am
Note: Each participant on the Centipede Team must register and pay the registration fee to participate in the event.
Fun Run Registration is $20.00 at all times
All runners registered by October 31st will receive a unisex cotton t-shirt of their requested size. All runners registering within two weeks of the race will receive a shirt as supplies permit. Available shirt sizes will be shown during the registration process if there are not any shirts shown available in your desired size, please select another size. Once shirts are accounted for, there will not be any more available. No refunds or discounts will be given to those registering after October 31st if shirts are not available.
90 minutes to 15 minutes prior to the start of the race – Packet, Bib, & Chip Pickup
90 minutes to 30 minutes prior to the start of the race – Day of Race Registration
20 minutes to 30 minutes after the last finisher – Awards Ceremony
8:00am – Race 1 – 5km Start
8:00am – Race 2 – Centipede 5km Race Start
9:00am – Race 3 1 Mile Fun Run Start
Overall Awards will be be presented as follows:
Men – 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place
Women – 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place
Age group awards will be presented to the top male and female (one deep) in the following age groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 Plus
Special awards will be presented in the following categories for teams in the Centipede Race:
Fastest Centipede Team (The first and fifth runner must finish within 30 seconds of each other)
Most Creative Team
Runners will only receive one award: overall, masters, or an age group award. Placements for awards are based on gun time, not chip time unless otherwise noted. Winners of cash prizes (if any) must have completed all college eligibiilty and will be required to provide the social security number and complete a W-9 form. All awards must be claimed by the award winner or their designee at the awards ceremony following the conclusion of the race. Awards will not be mailed or saved. Participants not able to attend the awards ceremony can arrange for a friend or family member to pick up their award for them. There are not any awards for the 1 mile fun run.
The run starts and finishes on the track at Bartram High School. There will be water stations on the course and at the finish line.

Due to a Bartram High School football playoff game packet pickup has been changed to day of race only. Participants will be able to pick up their race packets day of race onlyduring the times listed on the Event Schedule.
The race will be chip timed using a shoe chip system. Chips will be distributed at the packet pickup. All runners must cross the mat at the finish line with their chip properly attached to their shoe to score in the race. Chips must be returned at the conclusion of the race at the finish line. Runners not returning chips will be charged a fee of $30.
Race times and dates are subject to change without notice at any time for any reason. In the event the race time or date is changed or if the race is cancelled, for any reason, there will not be any refunds under any circumstances. Race entries can not be transferred to other participants or other races in the event a participant can not attend. Once the race registration is made, the transaction if final. In the event of bad weather every effort will be made to conduct the race, however it may be moved to an alternate date, time, or cancelled within hours of the starting time. Please be sure to check the PRS Race Timing website and Facebook page for updates prior to departing to the race for any last minute changes or instructions. Registration by the participant constitutes agreement to the above.
