Be Kind 5K

Be Kind 5 K
The Be Kind 5 K fun run/walk endows a scholarship fund created at WCA Foundation in Rosie Billquist’s memory.  The name of the race comes from the quote Rosie painted on a bench she created for patients to use outside UPMC Chautauqua WCA where she worked.  It reads:  “In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”  Rosie was a joyful, kind-hearted individual who loved to run and to help others.  Thank you for doing the same by supporting this event.

Date:  June 9, 2018
Where:  Falconer Park on N. Phetteplace, Falconer, N.Y.
Times:  Registration from 7:00-8:30 a.m. 
Timed 5K Run:  Shot gun start at 9 a.m.
Untimed 5K Walk:  Shot gun start at 9:15 am 

Fees:  Pre-registration $25 (plus $2.50 registration fee) includes participation in Run/Walk with t-shirt.  Must provide t-shirt size on registration form.  Online registration concludes on June 8 at 11:59 p.m.  https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Falconer/BeKind5K  Race day registration fee:  $30.

Event is pet friendly.  Dogs can be registered for $ 5 online or day of race.  Owner must identify name of dog, its breed, pet’s Veterinarian, and proof and date of their pet’s rabies vaccination.

Post-Race:  Award ceremony
Craft Vendors and Fun in the Park from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 
Food Vendors will be on site offering lunch-time fare.
