Big Country CASA’s Superhero 5K/1K Fun Run

Join us for the 1st Annual Superhero 5k/1k Fun Run (Walk, Run or Fly!) at the Abilene Christian University Campus in Abilene, Texas.

 

The goal of our event is to increase awareness of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), to recruit more volunteer advocates for children and to raise funds to support our mission. All proceeds from our race will directly benefit Big Country CASA in our efforts to recruit and train CASA volunteers to give a “voice” to abused and neglected children in court and the Taylor County foster care system.

 

There will be costume contests held for adults (13+), kids (12 and under) and pets!

 

Race t-shirts will be guaranteed to those registered by Monday, April 10, 2017.

Registration Fee

$25.00 13 & Up

 

Children 12 and under run for FREE (add $5 for t-shirt; $5 for optional chip timer)

 

Award Categories:

Age divisions: Male & Female

5 & Under, 6-9,10-12,13-19,20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,60-69,70+

 

**Trophies awarded for top male and female overall.  

**Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age category for male and female.   

**Prizes will be awarded to the oldest and the youngest participant.

Team entries encouraged!  Awards will be given for the largest team and 1st team crossing the finish line.   

All participants are encouraged to dress up in a superhero theme, and show your superhero spirit!

 

Costume Contest Categories:

 

Adults: Traditional Superhero, Invented Superhero

 

Kids: Traditional Super Girl, Invented Super Girl, Traditional Super Boy, Invented Super Boy, Super Baby

 

Groups: Super Group, Super Family

7:30am: Check-In/Late Packet Pick Up

8:30am: Group stretching/Warm-ups

8:45am: National Anthem and Color Guard Presentation

9:00am: 5k Run/Walk Starts

After 5k: 1k Run/Walk and “Chase the Villain” Children’s Run starts
