The Blackhawk Color Run 5k is a non-profit color run fundraising event! All proceeds will be donated to the Ortonville Brandon High School Girls’ Cross Country and Track teams.Athletes of all ages and ability are welcomed and encouraged to participate! Participants have the freedom to go at their own pace, whether that may be walking, jogging or race-running. The Blackhawk color run 5k will take place at the Brandon Township Community Park Located in Ortonville Michigan at the intersection of North Hadley Road and Oakwood Road. Our race will take place on the park’s cross county race course. This course will be maintained specially for our race by the Township, and clearly marked for the convenience of all runners and walkers participating in our event. Parking, restrooms, and shelter is available at the park. All pre-registered runners will receive a race t-shirt and post-race goodie bag while supplies last. All of our colors used in the run are of high quality, safe for use on humans and animals, hypo-allergenic and biodegradable. Colors will wash out. In the event of inclement weather, the race will be cancelled at the digression of the race director. All purchases and registration are non-refundable. All purchases and registration are non-refundable.Most color will wash out of clothing and hair with regular detergent/soaps and a little elbow grease!It is recommended that all participants were comfortable clothing and shoes appropriate for athletic events.It is recommended that participants and volunteers wear some sort of covering over their eyes. (for example, sunglasses) As the color is thrown, clouds of color will form and may mildly irritate sensitive eyes if unprotected. If any potential participants are subject to any condition that may cause respiratory distress, or may result in difficulty in walking the course, it is recommended that they take proper precautionary measures if they chose to participate. Clouds of color may form in the air that may potentially cause minor breathing hazard to those with sensitivity, temporarily, until the cloud clears. Jogging strollers are not recommended due to the terrain, but family participation is encouraged. It is recommended that all participants wear as much white clothing as possible. This will allow the powder to contrast on clothing and become more visible. It’s all part of the fun to start off wearing white and end up “color-rific”. It is recommended that all participants wear the provided white Blackhawk COLOR RUN t-shirt.It is recommend that participants have fun dressing up, costumes and crazy attire is welcomed and encouraged!
