Bolt for Becky 5K

In collaboration with the Scott family, Rowan College at Burlington County is hosting the 5th annual Bolt for Becky 5k to honor the life of Rebecca “Becky” Scott.

Rebecca Scott was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer May 2014, at the age of 27. To say her journey through life after the diagnosis was a roller coaster would be an understatement. Becky went through numerous rounds of chemo, clinical trials and harsh treatments, all while continuing to work full-time as an EMT and Paramedic, saving lives and taking care of others. Becky dedicated her life to serving others. At the age of 28, Becky Scott peacefully passed away on October 27th 2015.

The dictionary defines a fighter as "a person with the will, courage, determination, ability, or disposition to fight, struggle, resist…" This definition embodies Becky’s character and spirit. Not only was Becky an amazing young woman, she also believed in fitness and participated in many local runs. We, here at the RCBC Foundation, are so honored to be involved in this race. 

This great event will benefit The Rebecca Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund for students enrolled in the Paramedic Science program at RCBC. The race will take place on the Rowan College at Burlington County campus in Mt. Laurel, NJ. 

Race will be chip timed with an HD finish line video published on You Tube and integrated into final results.  Text messaging within seconds of your finish with finish time and pace, a great event shirt, custom bib, overall and age-group awards.
