About the event
Join the MICHIGAN STATE POLICE (MSP) on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 9 a.m for the 2nd Annual Bolt for the Heart 5K Run/Walk and new for 2020 a 10K Run.
This is a family friendly event, all ages and abilities are welcome. The course will be run on the grounds of the MSP training academy and is flat. The Michigan Running Foundation will be on site to provide professional race timing. Results will be posted during the race and online at Playmakers.com.
New this year is the VIRTUAL Bolt for the Heart 5k Run/Walk and 10k run! Details below!
Michigan’s Bolt for the Heart mission is to place an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in each Michigan State Police patrol car, and to provide preventative cardiac screenings for MSP troopers. Proceeds from the event go to support this wonderful cause.

Packet pick up and late registration: Friday, August 14, 2020 between 3 - 6 pm, or on race day from 8 - 8:45 am. Packet pick up will be at the MSP Training Academy, located at 7426 N. Canal Rd., Lansing.
T-shirt: Participants registered prior to July 30, 2020 are guaranteed a race t-shirt. T-shirts available after that date as supplies last.
Awards: Medals will be given to all participants. Awards will be given to the overall male and female, overall masters male and female, and the top two individuals in each age group (men and women). Age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
