The Kaplan Chamber of Commerce Boogie On The Boulevard 5K and 1 mile Fun Run family event will kick off a day of fun and excitement in downtown Kaplan! You choose whether you want to participate in a 1 mile walk/run or a 5K walk/run. (5K is 3.1 miles).

 

The 1 mile event will begin at 7:30 AM sharp. Both events will begin and end in Turnley Park. The 5K event will begin at 8:00 AM. The courses will take you on a relaxing walk/run tour through the streets of Kaplan. Grab a friend, sign up together and pass a good time!

Chip Time
This will be a chip timed event. You will receive a timing chip attached on the back of your runner's bib when you pick up your packet. Timing for Boogie On The Boulevard will be handled by Cajun Timing of Lafayette.

After Party
Kaplan Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a free after party for all participants featuring bands, plenty of jambalaya, fruits and drinks. Jambalaya will be provided by Vermilion Parish Sheriff Association and Sheriff Mike Couvillion. We thank him for his support!

Come early and make a whole day of it! There will be plenty to do for the whole family. All day long events including our Fai Do Do!

Achievement Awards Sponsor
Achievement award sponsorship for the 2015 "Boogie On The Boulevard" run event is provided by Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. We sincerely appreciate and thank them for their generosity. We could not have put on a first class event like this without their help and support.

1 Mile Event: Walkers Welcome! Runners participating in the one mile event will compete for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medal for both the male division and the female division. Every participant in this event will be awarded a 2015 "Boogie On The Boulevard" 1 Mile finisher's medal. There will be no individual age group awards for the 1 mile event.

5K Event: Walkers Welcome! Achievement awards will be given to the top three overall male and female winners as well as the top 3 finishers for each individual age group. Every participant in this event will be awarded a 2015 "Boogie On The Boulevard" 5K finisher's medal.

Awards

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall finishers for both male and female divisions. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will also be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers for each individual age groups. Everyone will receive a finisher’s medal.

Age groups are as follows:

19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Packet Pick-up

Packet pick-up will be held Friday, September 30th 1-3 PM at the Kaplan Chamber of Commerce office and again at 6:30 AM on Saturday, October 1st, at Turnley Park. Packet pick-up and registration will stop sharply at 7:15 AM October 4th. All registration and packets must be completed by this time.

Entry Fees will not be refunded should the event be cancelled for reasons deemed necessary for the safety of the participants.

*Register by August 25 to 100% ensure that you receive your "Boogie On The Boulevard" 1 mile or 5K finisher's medal. We must order our medals by that date and we need a good estimate of how many we need to order. Of course we are going to order extra medals and it is our intent that everyone that participates receive a medal. But once we order the medals we can't place another order for just a few. I really expect a flood of people registering later simply because this is going to be such a good event. I would hate to see anyone left out. So please, if you intend to participate in this event, please, please, please register as early as you possibly can and save us a few gray hair.
