About the event

  UPDATE: 3/17/2020

Due to public health concerns this race is on hold. If events unfold that gatherings such as trail runs are permitted and there is interest, we may still have the event. Otherwise, we wish you all good health and hope to see you next year on June 26th, 2021 (always the 4th Saturday in June).

  Details

Join us for a fun trail run/walk in beautiful Bridle Trails State Park. Mostly on the wide, scenic Coyote Trail, 100% of all entry fees go directly to the Bridle Trails Park Foundation. The 5K Coyote Challenge kicks-off the Foundation's 18th annual Party in the Park, an urban country carnival celebrating the park's unique equestrian and pedestrian community.

The Bridle Trails Park Foundation is a non-profit, 501c3 established in 2002 to protect, preserve, maintain, and enhance Bridle Trails State Park. With a rich equestrian history, the park is a unique and rare public venue in an urban neighborhood where both horses and people connect with each other and nature. Located at the intersection of Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond, the 482-acre park boasts 28 miles of trails shared by runners, walkers and equestrians. Come check it out!

5K COYOTE CHALLENGE IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF THE PARTY

This is a professionally timed race with all the bells and whistles. Results will be available shortly after the race. The course is on dirt trails throughout the park. There are a few hills and some uneven ground with some tree roots but mostly it is a wonderful trail for running. No dogs or bicycles will be allowed on the course. While child jog strollers are allowed, please keep in mind that you will be running or walking on narrow, natural dirt trails. To be considerate of others, please start in the back of the pack if you plan on bringing a stroller.

1K FAMILY ADVENTURE TRAIL
10:00AM – 12 NOON: After your breakfast, kid crafts, face painting and pony rides, grab your family and friends for a short hike on one of our 28 miles of trails. Participants who complete the interpretive hike will be entered into one of two $100 gift card drawings to PCC Community Markets or Amazon. Winners will be notified via email.

BREAKFAST SERVED
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Our famous ‘baked on the griddle’ pancake breakfast, with fresh fruit, sausage, coffee or juice for just $5.00.

PARKING & FREE SHUTTLE
Due to the increased attendance and need for horse trailer parking, there will be limited parking in the main lot. It will be restricted to disabled parking for those displaying a state-issued handicapped placard and event-support vehicles only. Attendees will need to park at the Central Park Tennis Club (5820 125th Lane NE, Kirkland WA 98033). The entrance to the Central Park Tennis Club parking lot is across the street from Ben Franklin Elementary School on NE 60th Street. There will be FREE shuttle service between the Central Park Tennis Club and the event. Since the park is only a few minutes from this parking lot, the shuttle will be making trips every 10 minutes from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. Please consider using this FREE service!
