Join us for C.A.S.A. of San Bernardino County’s “Heart of a Hero Run!”
Registration opens at 8:00am and the Run starts at 9:30am.
This event is hosted in recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. There are over 230 high-need-high-risk foster youth on the C.A.S.A. waitlist, anxiously awaiting a caring adult to mentor and advocate for their best interests. Our goal for is to recruit 100 new volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates for foster children throughout San Bernardino County this year. By participating in the Heart of a Hero Run, all proceeds raised will go toward the recruitment, screening, training, and supervision of new volunteers to help us meet our goal. We encourage all community members to come out and learn more about becoming a volunteer and how they can help a foster youth in need. Show your Heart of a Hero by registering today, and attending dressed in your favorite superhero costume or Alter Ego! The first 300 registrants will receive a free lunch provided by In-N-Out Burger. There will also be a Fun Zone, carnival games, costume contest and entertainment for the entire family.
We’ve added a mentoring Resource Fair, come out and see the various available opportunities in our community to make a difference in a young person’s life. You will be able to get information and sign up to be a mentor for a local mentoring agency including C.A.S.A.
We encourage you to create your own fundraising page with a personal fundraising goal in support of C.A.S.A.
In San Bernardino County, over 5,000 children live in foster care. Those children were not only abused and neglected but as a result, removed from their homes and families for their own safety. Sadly, many become lost, confused, sad, angry, depressed, and feel isolated and alone. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Every day CASA volunteers make a difference in the lives of hundreds of youth by being there for the tough days, the not so good days, the in-between days, and the good days.
If not you, who? If not together, how? If not now, when?
There’s something for everyone! Even if you don’t run, you can enjoy all of the family friendly activities. Come and enjoy a nice day out.
We encourage you to come out dressed up as your favorite Super Hero or your own personal alter ego and show your Heart of a Hero!
