Canes Cross Country Classic 5K & 1K

27th Annual Canes Cross Country Classic 5K & 1K

Our new date is Sunday, October 20, 2019 in conjunction with the Ghost 5K at Robinson Preserve, 1704 99th St NW, Bradenton, Florida 34209.

The Ghost 5K was kind enough to allow us to join their event since we were forced to cancel due to all county parks being closed on Labor Day in anticipation of Hurricane Dorian. 

We will have our own registration and packet pick up starting at 6:00 a.m. as well as our own awards ceremony separate from the Ghost 5K.  All participants of both races will run the same course at the same time but will be scored separately.

There is NO early packet pick up for the Canes Classic.  Pick up your bib number, shirt, and packet on race morning.  Thank you.

Race day registration is cash or check only payable to Manatee High School with your phone number on the check.  We cannot accept credit cards.  $40 for 5K and $10 for 1K.  Sorry but we are unable to process any refunds.

5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m.  

Our Canes Classic 1K family fun run/walk will be changed to your choice of the 7:45 a.m. Kids Dashes and/or the 8:40 a.m. One Mile walk/run.

5K awards to Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, and Veteran Grand Masters plus 3 deep in age groups. 

Rockin' door prizes, chip timing, and unique shirt designs....some of the coolest race shirts you'll find!  Shirt sizes only guaranteed by 10/1/2019.  After that, we'll do our best to get you the size you'd like.

We are Manatee County's oldest running tradition!

Schedule of Events:

6:00 a.m. - packet pick up and race day registration
7:45 a.m. - Kids Dashes
8:30 a.m. - Canes Cross Country Classic 5K start along with the Ghost 5K
8:40 a.m. - One Mile Family Walk/Run
9:45 a.m. - start of Canes Classic door prizes followed by awards for the 5K (separate from the Ghost 5K)

If you registered prior to the Manatee County Government cancellation of our event on 8/30/2019 and you cannot make it to our rescheduled date of 10/20/2019, please contact us by 9/15/2019 and we will defer your entry to Labor Day 2020.  Sorry we are not able to process any refunds.  Please submit all deferment requests by no later than September 15, 2019.  Thank you.
