Carter's Legacy 5k

The 5k walk/run is in loving memory of Carter Lee Kerns, son of Alyssa and Ed Kerns.  Carter died in a tragic accident the day before his first birthday.  Determined to bring good from tragedy, his parents founded the Carter Lee Kerns Memorial Fund, a permanent endowment fund established at the Martin County Community Foundation.  Annual payouts from this fund will go to support non-profit organizations that work to enhance the lives of children and families in Martin County, IN. All race proceeds will go to the Carter Lee Kerns Memorial Fund held and administered by the Community Foundation Partnership Inc. on behalf of the Martin County Community Foundation.

 This year, we are proud to be partnering with the Martin County Humane Society and West Boggs Park. Not only will there be the 5K, there will also be a DJ, a bounce houses, free lunch (thanks to local area churches), pet adoption information and an opportunity to hang out with local law enforcement officers.  Plan to come out and enjoy activities for every age!  

Thanks to the generosity of West Boggs Park, the gate fee will be waived for everyone on May 6th.  So, come on out and enjoy a wonderful family day!
