Champions for Children 5k

Join us at Great Meadow Foundation for the Champions for Children 5K. The proceeds will benefit foster children in Fauquier County. Children in foster care are separated from everything they have ever known and made to be part of a family they have never met before. Foster families are expected to treat these children as their own and support them returning to their birth families. Often times children and youth in foster care are not afforded the same opportunities as peers their age. Extracurricular activities such as: sports, prom, homecoming, yearbooks, birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, and graduation expenses are not covered by local, state, or federal funding. Though their basic needs are provided for through a foster care stipend, it is minimal. With your support, the foster children and youth will be afforded the same opportunities as their peers.
