Champions of Hope 5 K
Benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
WHO: All 5K speed racers, causal joggers, walkers, dogs and strollers
WHAT: This 3.1 mile run and walk through the gorgeous Village of Ottawa Hills is for everyone. This race is benefiting the true champions of hope, those battling blood cancer through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Northern Ohio.
WHERE: Ottawa Hills High School: parking lot between Indian and Kenwood; 3693 Kenwood, Ottawa Hills
WHEN: Saturday, May 16, 2020; runners start at 0800, walkers and strollers start at 0805
WHY: Join the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man and Woman of the Year Candidates, Students of the Year and Team In Training runner Malena Caruos for a morning of community, inspiration and hope. Hope that one day a blood cancer diagnosis will have a 100% survival rate with the advancements of science and medicine. Why, because we can make a difference in the community around us. Your race entry is 100% tax deductible and will go toward supporting families in NW Ohio and funding lifesaving research.

HOW: Pre-registration sign up is STRONGLY encourage. Why wait? Make someday, today! Race day registration will end at 0745 on Saturday, May 16. Packet pickup on race day will start at 0700. We are offering packet pickup at the Second Sole Toledo in Levis Commons (4130 Levis Commons Blvd. Perrysburg, Ohio) on Friday, May 15 from 4 – 7 p.m.
COST: $25 entry fee, tax deductible, includes course timing, post-race snack, water and a lot of FUN!
Per Ottawa Hills Police, this will not be a closed course.
OHPD will be strategically stationed throughout the course to ensure participate safety. The final mile of the course will come East on Indian. Participants will be on ONE side of the street. Please be mindful of Ottawa Hills residents and traffic coming through the Village. We are grateful to have this wonderful area to hold the race, let’s do our part to not be a nuisance.
Water Stop: There will be ONE water stop on the course near mile 1.5. Dog bowls will be available as well! This will be a timed race. We appreciate your support and patience when coming through the finish line.Participants will have 90 minutes to complete to course.
We are looking for volunteers to help with packet pickup on race day, race day registration, finish line support and awards ceremony, course marshals, an EMT to be at the finish line, set up and clean up.
We are looking for title sponsor for the race. This will go toward compensating the additional officers, timing equipment, race needs, etc. We are looking for a Water Stop sponsor. Your business or organization can volunteer and sponsor what’s needed for the water stop. We are looking for finish line sponsors. To provide the water and small post race snack for participants.If you are interested in being a sponsor, LLS will work with the individual group/person to come up with the best win-win. This could be signage, an add in the LLS Grand Finale Program, and more.
