Come and celebrate Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point 75th Anniversary. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, located in the town of Havelock, North Carolina, offered their 75th Anniversary 7.5k Run (4.6 Miles). Funding for construction of Cherry Point was approved and work started in 1941. In the 75 years, various types of aircraft have called Cherry Point home. According to a popular story, MCAS Cherry Point got its name from the wild cherry trees that grow along the nearby Neuse River.
