THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!
Tune in to our Facebook Page tonight at 6:30 PM EST for a LIVE video detailing event results!
Join us in our 6th Annual 5K Run & Walk! For 17 years, Circle of Care has provided practical, emotional and financial assistance to families, from day of diagnosis through treatment and beyond, with programs and services that meet the unique and challenging needs of pediatric cancer treatment. With your participation, this race helps us to raise the critically important funds required to meet the increasing needs our families face.
Although this race has transitioned to virtual as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic our families still need your support just as much.
You can support us by creating a team*, running as an individual, or becoming a sponsor. And, if you can’t join us, please donate! Branded race bibs will be mailed out, late registrations are not guaranteed to receive the bib by the race date. Please register on or before April 24th to receive a bib in the mail. All registrants who join after this date will be emailed a digital version to print at home instead.
*Teams are encouraged to run separately but at the same time. Details to follow on how to virtually commemorate your team experience!
You can complete your 3.1 miles anywhere you want, at any time you choose, between May 1st and 3rd. Please keep in mind that you should be following social distancing guidelines while participating in this event! Virtual means that you are responsible for tracking your own time if you choose to submit it to us! More details below on how to do this.
If you are running outside there are many methods to track your distance and time using technology. Apple and other smart watches can track your distance and time by simply “starting a workout.” Smartphone apps like “Map My Run,” “Nike Run Club,” and many others can do the same.
If you have already mapped your 3.1 mile route, you can just use the timer on your phone or a regular stop watch! If you are using a treadmill or stationary bike/rowing machine and it is capable of tracking your distance and time, this will work as well.
Remember, if you’re not a runner, you can complete this 5K your own way! Whether you bike, row, run, or walk; lace up, and have fun!
There is a whole community of runners/walkers out there supporting our cause. So, we want to see what the completion of YOUR 5K looks like, share your photos with us!
Photos can be shared by emailing them to [email protected] or tagging us on social media— Facebook: @circleofcare.ct, Instagram: @circle_of_care
