Rosalind Franklin University invites you to sign-up for the Colors of ICC Virtual 5K to support the Interprofessional Community Clinic (ICC), a student-led free clinic operated by volunteer health professionals and Rosalind Franklin University and DePaul University students. Last year, the ICC has provided care for more than five hundred Lake County citizens in dire need of health services. The clinic offers patient-centered primary care as well as specialty care in the areas of podiatric medicine, physical therapy, psychology, and pharmacy counseling. In addition, the clinic is able to serve its patients by providing free vaccinations, lab services, glucometers, and diabetes education classes. The ICC, in partnership with Rosalind Franklin and the community, seeks to continue providing accessible quality healthcare for the under-served in an environment in which students, health professionals, patients, and community members are able to learn from one another by working together.

Tips for your run:
Choose a route before you start. Always have a plan.
Practice running your route a time or two. Get used to your route so when it counts you don’t have to slow down and try to remember where to turn.
Avoid routes that require uphill running. Vice versa, consider a route with a lot of downhill runs that could help your time.
Make sure you get good cellphone reception on your route. You need your GPS to track your run so you’ll need a good connection.
Avoid excessive turns. Sometimes the GPS can momentarily disconnect and if it happens during a turn you could lose some distance. This can occur when running laps on a track.
Avoid routes that may force you to stop for traffic or other obstacles
Out and back routes are an easy way to finish your run where you started. Run 2.5K, turn around and run back to your starting point
Stop the clock as soon as you hit 5K!
