The Cooper Tire Centennial 5-Miler race was introduced in July 2014 to commemorate the company’s 100th anniversary in the tire business. Please join us for the second annual Cooper Tire Centennial 5-Miler Race on Saturday, July 25 beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Cooper Tire Track and Field Complex at Findlay High School.

Cooper invites walkers and runners of all ages and skill levels to participate. At Cooper, we are proud of where we’ve been and confident of where we are going… come along with us!

Funds are being raised on behalf of the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Centennial Scholarship, a component of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation.

Centennial 5-Miler

Starting at the Cooper Tire Track and Field Complex behind Findlay High School, runners will weave their way past the baseball and soccer fields and onto Howard Street. Turn at Broad Avenue, and we’re on our way to Cooper! Follow Broad Avenue and Western Avenue all the way to Lima Avenue to see Cooper’s Technical Center and Corporate Offices. We’ll continue down Lima Avenue and make the turnaround at the Plant entrance. From there it is the same route back to the High School with a grand finish on the Cooper Track!

This is a chip-timed race. Participants must be able to finish within the alloted time. No pets please.

Awards

  • $600 toward a set of Cooper tires for Top Male and Female finishers
  • $50 Gift Card to Dave’s Running for Top Male and Female finishers in the Masters Division (40+)
  • Medals for Top Three finishers in each age group

Corporate Cup Challenge

Cooper is partnering with the Findlay YMCA to host the Corporate Cup Challenge. The competition pits businesses and their employees against each other in a friendly competition that focuses on teamwork and having a good time. Two-person teams, with each team member running 2.5 miles, will complete the 5-mile course. Awards will be given to the top three Corporate Cup teams. The overall team champion will be presented with the highly coveted Corporate Cup Trophy to display proudly in their office for the year. Registration coming soon!

Virtual Runner Option

Can’t make it into town for the race? No worries… join us remotely from the comfort of your own town. Register as a Virtual Runner by July 19, then hit your favorite route and log your 5 miles. Take a picture of your run and send it to [email protected] Your race registration includes: race packet and t-shirt. We’d love to have you join us in person, but if that’s just not possible, this is an excellent way to run with us in spirit! Registration coming soon!

Kids’ Run

Takes place on the Cooper Track after the Centennial 5-Miler. Kids age 10 and younger are invited to run a lap around the track. Everyone gets a ribbon for participating

1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

Intimidated by 5 miles? No problem! After the Awards Presentation, everyone is invited to take part in four simple laps around the track. Runners and walkers are welcome. This is not a timed event.

Zumba

Join in this contagious high-energy workout!

Yoga

Relax, let go, and enjoy a yoga demonstration!

Family Fun Area

Fun for the little ones! We will have a bounce house, inflatable slide, snow cones, popcorn, games, and activities.

Door Prizes

Enter to win a variety of prizes, including $600 toward a set of Cooper tires, and a six-month YMCA family membership!

Health Booth

Stop by for free blood pressure screenings and get some healthy living tips.
